Under the first level of transportation engineering, there are three second-level disciplines consisting of Road and Railway Engineering, Carrier Utilization Engineering, Transportation Planning and Management. Its Low-carbon Pavement Materials Engineering Research Center is Liaoning Province Engineering Research Center, and the road Engineering Laboratory is a key laboratory of Liaoning Province
There are 26 full-time teachers in the first class discipline transportation engineering , including 7 professors, 13 associate professors, 5 lecturers and 1 assistant professor. 19 teachers have doctoral degrees. Many people have won many awards such as the New Century Excellent Talents of the Ministry of Education, Distinguished Professors in Liaoning Province and the first level of Talents Project of Liaoning Province.
In the recent five years, the discipline has been closely integrated with the policy of "The Belt and Road" and the strategy of rejuvenating the northeast and has been working hard to serve the local economy. A series of research results have been achieved in the field of new pavement materials and pavement structure, carrier tools and new energy technologies, pavement maintenance and decision-making techniques, pavement damage theories and methods, sub grade design theory and processing technology in special environment, road traffic management and intelligent control. It owns more than 150 national, provincial and ministerial level scientific research projects, including 8 National Natural Science Foundation of China. The total research funding is nearly 30 million yuan. The discipline has won more than 20 provincial and ministerial awards, published more than 200 academic papers, of which 50 were included in SCI and EI. It has obtained 50 authorized patents, including 24 invention patents.
A first-class discipline in transportation engineering carried out high-level scientific and technological cooperation with the University of Miami in the United States, Delft University of Technology, Kumamoto University in Japan, Harbin Institute of Technology, Dalian University of Technology and Jilin University.
A brief introduction to the discipline of Road and Railway Engineering
Road and railway engineering is a secondary discipline, there are 18members , including 12 professors, 4 associate professors, 2 lecturers,13 PhD's and 5 Master's degree holders. 2 people are in the first level of Talents Project of Liaoning Province. There is 1 Liaoning University Climb Scholar, 2 outstanding experts in Shenyang City, 2 outstanding talent support program of Department of Education of Liaoning Province. 1 person was awarded the Liaoning Provincial Teaching Master Award, and threr are 4 part-time Liaoning Academic Institutions. The discipline started in the 1990s, after years of construction, it has become a discipline with certain scale, influence and research characteristics in the Northeast even in the country. Research platform of "Low-carbon Pavement Materials Engineering Research Center" is a provincial engineering technology research center. The main research directions of this subject include new pavement materials and pavement structure, highway maintenance technology and pavement management evaluation, highway geological disaster prevention and control theory, soft soil subgrade reinforcement technology, viscoelastic material damage and fracture theory, waste resource recycling and so on. In recent years, it has obtained more than 150 various scientific research projects of national level, provincial level and enterprises, and a research funding of over 30 million yuan. More than 20 research achievements have been awarded provincial and ministerial level science and technology awards. Faculty members of the discipline have published more than 400 high-level academic papers, 80 large-scale research papers, 10 books and textbooks, and formulated 15 local standards in Liaoning Province.

Bridges and Tunnel Engineering is a two-level discipline under the civil engineering discipline. Currently, there are 15 members including 5 professors, 8 associate professors, 3 doctoral tutors, 14 doctoral degree holders and 15 master's degree holders. There is 1distinguished Professors of National "Thousand People Plan", 1 New Century Talents Program of Ministry of Education. 1 people are in the second level of Talents Project of Liaoning Province. There is 1 Liaoning University Climb Scholar, 2 outstanding experts in Shenyang City, 2 outstanding talent support program of Department of Education of Liaoning Province. 1 person was awarded the Liaoning Provincial Teaching Master Award, and there is 1 university innovation team 5 part-time Academic Institutions of Liaoning province. Based on the theory of bridge structure design and calculation, theory of modern bridge structure design, wind and seismic resistance of bridges, bridge construction and reinforcement and tunnel inspection technology, this subject closely follows the national development strategy of "One Belt and One Road", studies the key technologies and theoretical innovations related to bridge and tunnel engineering and forms a group of leading research results in China with the goal of serving the modern design and construction of traffic construction industry. The discipline has published more than 200 academic papers at major academic conferences and core journals at home and abroad, over 50 papers are in three major searches, it also won six provincial and ministerial level scientific research achievement awards, five bureau-level scientific research achievement awards and four authorized invention patents.
A brief introduction to the Transportation Planning and Management
Transportation planning and management discipline is a secondary discipline under the discipline of transportation engineering. There are 5 associate professors, 3 lecturers and 5 postgraduate tutors. In the past three years, more than 80 papers have been published, and more than 10 scientific research projects have been undertaken. Transportation planning and management is a new interdisciplinary discipline. The main research directions consist of traffic management and control, traffic organization planning, logistics system planning and design, etc. We explore the law of traffic and study the theory and method of transportation system planning, design and decision-making management so as to achieve the purpose of maximizing the space-time resources and improving the capacity of road transport by using the principles of management science, system science and cybernetics to organize and induce traffic, optimize traffic signal control schemes, coordinate the supply and demand of transportation, and evaluate the comprehensive planning and design of transportation systems.

There are 14 members in the echelon of civil engineering surveying, including 5 professors, 6 associate professors, 5 Ph. D. degrees holders and 9 masters degrees holders. The average age of the academic team is 38.5 years old. 2 state-level part-time academic groups , 3 Liaoning Province part-time academic groups. The main research directions of civil engineering surveying are precision engineering surveying, geotechnical monitoring, precision measurement technology of railway engineering, satellite positioning, integrated application of geographic information and remote sensing (GNSS, GIS, RS). The subject is supported by a national project, of which there are 1 major project (1 water project) and 10 provincial funded projects. The main research results include: modeling of remote sensing data for water pollution control in Shenyang-Fushun connection zone, remote sensing measurement of planting area of grain crops in Liaoning Province, study on dynamic monitoring and settlement mechanism of groundwater in precipitation construction in Shenyang metro, Baihe tower deformation monitoring, automatic monitoring of subway protection in construction of Shenyang Central Street civil air defense project, etc.

Carrier Utilization Engineering is a second-level discipline under the discipline of Transportation Engineering. There are 5 members, including 1 professors, 4 associate professors, 5 postgraduate tutors. The subject covers mechanical engineering, material science and engineering, electronic science and technology, management science and engineering and systems engineering and traffic information technology, microelectronics technology, computer technology, integrated technology and other high-tech. The main research directions of the discipline include urban rail transit technology and equipment, vehicle safety and inspection control technology, vehicle operation and management, energy conservation and environmental protection, and application of new materials for transportation vehicles.
A brief Introduction of the first level subject- Science and Technology of Surveying and Mapping
The first level subject, Science and Technology of Surveying and Mapping, consists of 3 second level subject, Geodesy and engineering surveying, Cartography and Geographic Information system, Photogrammetry and remote sensing. This subject is mainly engaged in the research of the acquisition, expression, processing, analysis and application of spatial information using a variety of sensors. In recent years , with the rapid development of large data , cloud computing and " Internet + " , geospatial data play an increasingly important role in economic development, it has a strong demand for talents of mapping geographic information, and puts forward higher requirements to the technical level of practitioners.
There are 18 full-time teachers, including 5 professors, 8 associate professors, 6 lecturers in the Science and Technology of Surveying and Mapping subject. 9 teachers have doctorate degrees. Most full-time teachers graduated from Wuhan University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Northeast University, Hehai University, etc.
This subject has abundant teaching resources, with surveying and mapping equipment of more than 10 million yuan, such as three - dimensional laser scanner, unmanned aerial vehicle, measuring robot, photogrammetric workstation. It also has engineering survey laboratory, photogrammetry and remote sensing laboratory, geographic information laboratory and a number of practical training bases established with enterprises. The quality of students' employment is high，80% of the students are employed in the world's top 500 state-owned enterprises, as well as design institutes, surveying and mapping geographic information units.

Main features and research directions of geodesy surveying and engineering surveying are precise engineering survey, theory and method of deformation monitoring, theory and application of spatial information surveying, theory and method of multi-system positioning information fusion. The subject study and solve all kinds of measurement techniques and methods with special precision requirements, and establish theory of measurement and control as well as monitoring technology for large-scale projects; study network theory of various security monitoring models and monitoring systems, and establish security monitoring information management system and expert evaluation system; study satellite navigation and precise positioning technology, and establish multi-system location information fusion model and method. Cartography and geographic information engineering is a kind of science and technology which use map graphics to reflect the spatial distribution, interrelation and dynamic changes of various phenomena in nature and human society scientifically and abstractly, and to achieve acquisition, intelligent abstraction, storage, management, analysis, processing, visualization and applications of spatial information. It provides effective technical support for the research of geoscience, land science and management, resources and environment, urban planning and management, national defense and military. It provides scientific basis for prediction, planning and decision-making of various national economy departments. It plays an important role in solving the sustainable development of population, resources, environment and social economy, as well as in the study of global changes and the formulation of countermeasures. There are 7 members in the team, including 1 professors, 4 associate professors, 5 doctor’s degree holders and 2master's degree holders. The average age of the academic team is 39 years old. The main research directions of the subject include the integration of the "3S(GIS,GNSS ,RS)". update of space-time database, construction of thematic geographic information system, research on spatial analysis theory, research on the application of geographic database, cross analysis of geographic information system and other disciplines. The subject has received 3 projects supported by the provincial level and more than 10 horizontal projects. The main research findings include: data sharing platform of multiple space of land and resources based on Web GIS, Key technology research on data sharing and dynamic extraction of land and resources, consultation and design of comprehensive supervision platform of land resource bureau and housing bureau in Dalian, digital campus management system, urban underground pipeline management system and other projects.

Main characteristics and research directions of photographic surveying and remote sensing are digital photographic surveying, laser three-dimensional measurement, microwave remote sensing technology and its application, hyper spectral remote sensing technology and its application, image change detection and data updating, interpretation and analysis of remote sensing images. Through the measurement, processing, analysis and translation of the image to obtain the information of the target and its environment, image acquired from aerial photography , close - range photography and remote sensing technology for use in all sectors of the national economy.
